The Parents Council is a select group of parents and family members of current and incoming Syracuse University students who serve as an advisory board to the Senior Vice President for Enrollment and the Student Experience and the division’s leadership. The council supports the goals and priorities of the division in achieving the mission of creating an unsurpassed student experience, with particular focus on philanthropy and volunteerism.
Dear Fellow Parents Council Members,
As co-chairs of the Parents Council, we want to welcome you all to the 2020-2021 Syracuse University Parents Council! The Parents Council is a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into the University’s strategic vision and engage with University leadership to help shape that vision, particularly in the area of student engagement. The Parents Council helps make a large university seem smaller and enables members to make connections with University leadership and other engaged parents that are not otherwise possible.
While we look forward to seeing past members and meeting new members in person, this year will present unique challenges and opportunities for us to engage. Thank you in advance for completing the survey that was sent to all Parents Council members on May 14. If you haven’t been able to complete the survey, please do so at your earliest convenience. Your collective input drives the focus of the Parents Council, will help us develop an agenda for the videoconference, and set the stage for our on-campus meeting in the fall.
We hope that you all have found meaningful, creative and fun ways to connect with your students during these many weeks that most of us have been staying at home. Here’s hoping that they will all have the opportunity to return to Syracuse in the fall to continue their learning and college experience among the University’s diverse and talented student body. Go Orange!
