Therapeutic Style: My therapeutic style is an integration of Adlerian Theory, interpersonal process and Emotion-focused Therapy. My clinical approach focuses on assisting students in exploring their feelings, beliefs, values and strengths to encourage and empower their personal growth.
Professional Interests: My areas of professional interests include multicultural counseling which encompasses culture, gender, sexual orientation and other aspects of diversity, the psychology of international, immigrant, Asian/Asian American student populations, multilingual counseling (English and Mandarin) and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) issues, as well as multiple clinical presentations, such as trauma, interpersonal relationships and chronic mood concerns. Prior to coming to Syracuse University, I completed my internship at Miami University Student Counseling Service. The internship particularly focused on supporting the international student group at Miami University.
Group and Liaison Roles: During Fall 2020, I co-facilitated the Gender and Sexuality Affirmative Therapy Group and the Understanding Self and Others Group.
Educational Background: I received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Fudan University and a master’s degree in counseling psychology from East China Normal University, both in Shanghai, China. I received a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Adler University in Summer 2020.
