In the spirit of “being orange,” Health Ambassadors promote a community that stays well and minimizes the negative impact of COVID-19 on our campus. As a volunteer, Health Ambassadors work with the Barnes Center at The Arch team and public health faculty to support the campus community. Health Ambassadors are trained to share information about the Stay Safe Pledge and best practices in public health guidelines with peers.
The Health Ambassador position provides valuable experience to add to your resume and allows you to make a difference on your campus during the COVID-19 pandemic. Volunteers will have the opportunity to receive volunteer hours, a free t-shirt and more.
Training and Preparedness
Your safety is our top priority. All Health Ambassadors must participate in a one hour virtual training. Virtual training options can be selected on the volunteer form. Each Health Ambassador volunteering in-person will be provided a mask, hand sanitizer and training on safety guidelines.
As members of the Stay Safe Campaign Planning Team responsibilities include drafting storyboards, filming videos for social media (e.g. TikTok, YouTube, Instagram Reels), reposting from @BeWellSU and promoting survey completion.
It is required that team members attend and participate in virtual meetings Wednesdays from 3 to 4 p.m. during the Spring 2021 semester.
In-person volunteering includes providing information and reminders about the Stay Safe Pledge to peers on campus. Starting in Feb. 2021, in-person shifts will be hosted at key campus locations. Weather permitting, outdoor locations will begin in late March 2021.
After completing the Health Ambassador Volunteer Form, students will receive additional information surrounding shift timing.
