Practice mindfulness through meditation! Meditation is the art of quieting your body and mind by focusing on one mental image, object or feeling at a time. Benefits include an increase in productivity, self-esteem, alertness and content. It can also help to reduce stress levels and various symptoms of depression.

While there are several classes and group therapy workshops held in the Meditation Room, members of the campus community are free to use the room during open meditation hours for their personal practice. Members of the campus community may also reserve the Meditation Room for their class or group. Group reservations may be made in the Wellness Portal.

Syracuse University also offers classes for credit centered on mindfulness and meditation. If you’re interested, explore the different classes held in the Meditation Room. These currently include HNR 220: 10 Percent Happier and HSF 452: Mindfulness in Children and Youth. Learn more about these classes in the Course Catalog.
