Play broomball with us! Games are played on roughed-up ice in sneakers and players use plastic "brooms" to score goals. The Tennity Ice Skating Pavilion hosts a Fall and Spring Intramural Sports league. Additional information is available in the Wellness Portal. With a valid I.D. open skating events are:

  • free for Syracuse University and SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) students;
  • faculty, staff, alumni, dependents and spouses may participate in open skate for $8 per person and rent skates for $4 per person.

Tennity Ice Skating Pavilion changes into Syracuse’s hottest, or should we say coolest, night club with Late Night Ice events! Gather with friends to enjoy music, win prizes and participate in fun theme nights. Opportunities include glow skating and blacklight curling. Skate the night away every Friday and Saturday during the academic year. Admission and skate rentals are free for students with a Syracuse University or SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) I.D. Ice Instruction Programs

Supportive of all or no skill levels, starting at three years of age and older, year-round Tennity Ice Skating Pavilion instruction classes are open to the campus community and general public.

This introduction to sled hockey class teaches participants the basic skills of sled hockey with a focus on skating and movement on the ice. All equipment is provided and no experience is necessary. This adult (18 years of age and older) hockey class is geared toward novice and intermediate players. However,  all skill levels are welcome! Full pads are required and participants should possess basic ice skating skills (e.g. forward, backward, snowplow stop at a minimum). Private ice skating lessons are open to affiliates of Syracuse University and SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF), and to members of the public who are enrolled in group lessons. There is no admittance charge for students with a currently valid student I.D. card.

Non-Student Admittance

Please note, the Tennity Ice Skating Pavilion is a limited use facility for community members. The following individuals with valid I.D. cards are eligible for admittance by paying the admittance fee.

  • Syracuse University faculty, staff, spouses and students’ dependents.
  • Domestic partners of full-time Syracuse University faculty and staff.
  • Syracuse University College of Professional Studies students, faculty, staff, spouses and dependents.
  • Syracuse University alumni card holders (A picture I.D. is also required).

The following fees apply per admission and membership eligibility. Those eligible to purchase admission and/or memberships may do so at the Tennity Ice Skating Pavilion using all major credit cards or checks made out to Syracuse University. Please note, cash is not accepted.
