Handshake Log-In

Handshake is Syracuse University’s centralized career management tool. As a free resource, Handshake hosts available internships, professional employment and professional development opportunities available through ’Cuse Works, alumni and partners. Using Handshake

Syracuse University students, alumni, faculty, staff and employer partners may use Handshake. For more information or questions, please contact the Syracuse University Career Services team.

  1. Visit the Handshake Login webpage.
  2. Select “Syracuse University Login” and enter your NetID and password.
  3. Following, in as little as five minutes complete your profile and access the entire platform.
  4. The Handshake mobile app is available on the App Store and Google Play.

  2. Select “No account? Sign up here.”
  3. Under “Are you an employer?” Select “sign up here.”
  4. Under “Sign up as an Employer” enter the required account information and select “Sign up.”
  5. Following, in as little as five minutes complete your profile, confirm your email address and access the entire platform.
  6. The Handshake mobile app is available on the App Store and Google Play.

  2. Select your name in the top right corner and then select "My Profile."
  3. Select "Settings and Privacy" and then select "Community."
  4. Need help? The Career Services team is ready to help!

  3. Complete each of the different areas of your profile (e.g. profile picture, education, work experience and more).
  4. Once complete, select "Make Profile Public" to allow employers to see.

  2. In the Menu Bar select "Events" and then "Event Search." (Or you may select "Fair Search" and "Career & Internship Fair.")
  3. Within the Filter Section select "+" near "Career Center." Here enter "Syracuse University."
  4. Explore the list of events and select the title of an event to learn more and to register.

’Cuse Works is Syracuse University’s resource for all things related to student employment. Managed by the Student Employment Office and working alongside Syracuse University Career Services, ’Cuse Works helps students during their time at Syracuse University to connect with on- and off-campus jobs that encompass both Federal Work-Study and non-Federal Work-Study opportunities.

  1. Visit the Handshake Login webpage.
  2. Use your NetID and password to log-in.
  3. Search ‘CuseWorks’  in the job title category to find employment opportunities.

  2. Select your name in the top right corner and then select "Documents."
  3. Next begin to upload documents with "Select from Computer."
  4. Here you can upload resumes, cover letters, portfolios, a reference list and more.

  2. Select your name in the top right corner and then select "Settings & Privacy."
  3. On the Account Information webpage under "Account Information" select "Visa Status."
  4. Make your selection and follow any additional directions as needed.
  5. To complete, select the "Save" button.

  2. In the top right corner select "Career Center" and then "Appointments."
  3. On the next webpage select "Schedule A New Appointment."
  4. Select the appropriate category and then on the next webpages select the appointment types that best meet your needs.
  5. To complete, select the "Request" button in the bottom right corner.
  6. Following you will receive an email confirmation (i.e. @syr.edu).

  2. Select your name in the top right corner and then select "Notifications."
  3. Then in the upper left corner, select "Edit Notification Preferences."
  4. Select each preference you would like to receive an email message for  (e.g. events, interview schedules, jobs, and more).

  2.  From the Menu Bar select "Jobs."
  3. Next a list will populate per your major.
  4. Students are encouraged to filter their search or use keywords in the Search Bar as needed.

  2. From the Menu Bar select "Jobs" and then "Employers."
  3. Students are encouraged to filter their search and explore employers as they would like.

  1. Visit the Handshake Login webpage and enter your NetID and password to access. 
  2. Select "On-Campus Interviews" in the top right corner.
  3. From the "Filters" section in the "Keyword" search box enter your preference.
  4. When ready, under "Related Jobs" select "Job Title" and apply.
  5. You will receive an email confirmation (i.e. @syr.edu) when complete.
  6. Following, you may receive an invitation from the employer to select an interview time slot. If so, within Handshake select "Jobs," followed by "Applications" and then "Interview." Here you can then select a time.
