FYS 101 Facilitators

Faculty, staff, undergraduate and graduate students are invited to apply to be a FYS 101 facilitator. Facilitators help guide new students through conversations surrounding building a strong campus community. Detailed job descriptions are below.

As Lead Facilitators, faculty and staff will work in conjunction with a current undergraduate peer facilitator to guide discussions within a section of FYS 101, hosting up to 25 students during the fall 2021 semester. Discussions are anchored around increasing the sense of belonging on the Syracuse University campus. Facilitators are provided with a curriculum guide, training and ongoing support throughout the duration of FYS 101.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred.
  • Staff must be full-time employees and have approval from their direct supervisor.
  • Two years of Syracuse University employment is preferred.

Peer Leaders will work in conjunction with a Lead Facilitator to guide discussions within a section of FYS 101, hosting up to 25 students during the fall 2021 semester. Requirements:

  • Preferred junior, senior or graduate student standing in fall 2021.
  • Application is available on Handshake. Handshake is Syracuse University's career management platform. Students may access Handshake using their Syracuse University NetID and password to find jobs, internships, career development events and to connect with employers.
