The Center for International Services hosts the International Students Orientation for incoming matriculated Undergraduate and Graduate International Students.

The Virtual Welcome Academy is a free, interactive and online series open to incoming undergraduate students that helps them transition to life in the U.S. and at Syracuse University. Wondering what living, studying, dining and travelling is like at Syracuse University? This program covers these topics and more. Plus, connect with fellow incoming Syracuse University students before arriving to campus!

The Virtual Welcome Academy was designed in partnership between Syracuse University and Main Street Virtual Learning (MSVL). MSVL is working together with Syracuse University to bring you the Virtual Welcome Academy.

Through 15 one-hour sessions, students will learn about and discuss topics including living with a roommate, using your meal plan, finding services on campus, working with an academic advisor, and more. Each session is facilitated from the United States and during each one-hour session, you’ll interact with other students who are also coming to Syracuse University.

MSVL will contact each student to determine your availability. Based on your availability, MSVL will create a class schedule and make arrangements with you directly. All student sessions are delivered in English.

The Virtual Welcome Academy is free and open to incomming matriculated Syracuse University undergraduate students. Students must have submitted the Admissions Acceptance Form to participate.

Students must complete this form to register for Virtual Welcome Academy.

Once your registration is confirmed, MSVL will contact you to schedule your sessions. Contact MSVL at predeparture@msvlonline.com or connect with them on WeChat at MSVLHelpdesk.

Note:  The Virtual Welcome Academy is a Pre-Arrival Virtual Orientation.  Upon arrival at Syracuse University you must attend the mandatory International Student Orientation.
